And it’s too late to say you’re sorry,
Say you’re sorry still
And I stepped out with heavy heart to bail you out again
Oh those things you do

Pacific Rim 2  and Pacific Rim: The Animated Series in the Works
Jaeger pilots and kaiju groupies are going to want to strap in for this one. Guillermo del Toro, famed director of Hellboy, Pan’s Labryinth and, of course, Pacific Rim, recently released a statement confirming the start of development on Pacific Rim 2.
Even more exciting, however, is the news that del Toro is currently in the process of developing an animated series based in the universe of the films. You can watch him make this announcement here, which I highly recommend, because Guillermo del Toro is an adorable nerd and his excitement is nothing short of contagious.
Pacific Rim: The Animated Series has so much potential — it can explore parts of the mythos that the film left untouched, or shed light on what the kaiju crisis was like in other parts of the world and how other countries reacted in the face of that threat. While the sequel is likely to explore the characters introduced in the first film and continue their story, I’m more interested to see what the creators will focus on without the limitations of cinematic realism holding them back.
Pacific Rim 2 is set to hit theaters on April 7th, 2017.

You know, setters are like orchestra conductors. Even if you have the same song and the same orchestra, if the conductor is different… the sound is different.
